Headlanders Bodyboard Club

So the last few weeks me and my mate Ben have had some pretty fun waves up the coast. I had to re-stringer a board as I have been re using all my old ones to keep a fresh one for my West oz South oz mission I’m actually now contemplating going into the shaping industry check out my drill skills haha. We also called into the Bega cheese factory as we drive past it each week and though we would check it out, and we filled our stomachs with way to much tester cheese! Anyway here are a few fun pic’s of the last swell, and a few random bits n pieces shot by Ben Berry.

hey everyone, well we made it to cairns!!
we are staying with my old room mate pat, at their house just inland from cairns, we have been over to hitchenbrook camping and catching sharks. They were everywhere its all we could get. Then we went over to a few islands at mission beach spearing and fishing. We got a few good fish spearing,  eating coral trout everyday, im already over fish! We are now here in Cairns until sunday then heading up the cape, so in about 2 weeks ill give evryone an update. Any way im going to vinnies today to purchase a mad outfit for the races tomorrow, with the heat and the catching up with old mates, i think we are in for a very large day!

hey everyone well here is the deal, we are going around australia, we are in townsville, yesterday our motor shit itself, we went out this morning bought a new 18hp motor for the tinywent for a dive and then trolled home this is what happened. Yeeeeeeew

well i have been taken in by a family at the moment we are sleeping in there garage they are so nice feeding us, looking after us, letting us use there tools and stuff.  i went on a holiday over to this island just of townsville the other day cause they felt bad for me when my mototr blew up….they even gave me the double bed and they slept with there kids i argued but they wouldnt budge. they are so nice and have been so good to us we have been here over a week and they are loving us especially lindon the father, its like uni all over for him, he is frothing ha ha loving hanging with the boys. he has been taking us out on his boat and waging work to teach us how to throw cast nets and heaps of great stuff. Magnetic island is just of townsville 20m ferry her are some shots…

Well the last few months have been a bit different for me due to an injury. I somehow bent my extremely long neck in the wrong direction surfing locally and have been left with a disc bulge in the right hand side of my neck. Since this time I have been unable to surf. There was one occasion when I knew of a reef down the coast lighting up that I went out as I knew it would mainly be barrels so, Sam Boulton, Nick Omerod and myself, snuck down and scored some really fun waves. Brandon Waluew was shooting and Mitch Payne on the cam. Got some good waves with Nick showing some skills and really made me realise how good the guy is in the barrel. As for Sam….well I have surfed this spot on two other occasions and Sam really wants to get hurt out there I think. He has a somewhat desire to get in the wrong spot out there and has not survived a session without at least loosing a fin and snapping a leash. Sam conquered a few good barrels before taking a large freeeeeeefall onto the cungi take off and got preety much eaten alive, ha ha! Nick and I continued to surf assuming he had gone in and it was only when we saw a drowned rat paddling back out we heard he actually had been spewing cause he almost drowned and was in against the rocks for the past 45min. Headlanders has been getting some really fun waves for the last few comps with the young guys from down the coast like Cody showing some tidy skills. Sam Boulton won the last comp on the weekend and was surfing really well in his last heat smashing two smooth and big air reverses and getting a screaming barrel to invert which had all us watching realizing why his board is starting to fill up with stickers! All who were there would like to thank Frank the red head Tank for the day and the mums that helped judge and help out as usual. That’s all for me from the past few months…
